The European Economic Interest Grouping Programa Royal Collections
Programa Royal Collections (PRC) is a business grouping formed of associated bodies with representation in Europe, the Americas and Asia. It was born with a clear aim in mind: to build up and run unique collections of gems and precious-metal artwork and then display them to the public in exhibitions of unmatched quality in order to bring natural and cultural heritages to a wider audience.
One of the biggest challenges facing the founders of PRC was the sheer scope of the ends in view, which no known company in Spain could cope with single-handedly. An even greater challenge was to put together collections that were unique in the world. This goal could therefore be achieved only by pooling the endeavours of several specialised firms, with the additional advice of a sound team of expert collaborators.
Given the international span projected, it was decided to launch in the form of a European Economic Interest Grouping (A.E.I.E in Spanish initials), regulated within the European Union by Council Regulation (EEC) No. 2137/85 on the European Economic Interest Grouping and by the Spanish Law 12/1991 on Economic Interest Groupings (Ley española de Agrupaciones de Interés Económico). It was duly entered in the Mercantile Register of Madrid in volume 12,242, Book 0, Folio 73, Section 8, Page M-193.821, Entry 1.
This Grouping, created in 1997, brought together specialist firms in gemmology, geology, art, the management of cultural tourism projects, international trade and communication, some with over 20 years’ experience. Upon this solid base rests the Advisory Board, made up of members of the highest excellence and expertise.
