Exhibitions Hiring Terms and Arrangements

The subject-matter, breadth and approach of each exhibition are adapted to the specific needs of each particular exhibition centre. The hiring arrangements therefore vary in each case, although the general terms can be summed up as follows:

1. Assignment Arrangements

Options here include:

1.1.Assignment of contents with full operation rights
Under this formula the hiring organisation obtains not only the exhibition rights but also the museum-services operation rights (gate, sale of publications, etc.). The assignment fees vary in terms of the collections hired. If you are interested in finding out the hiring fees for any of our exhibitions, just contact our Exhibition Department.

1.2. Assignment of contents with joint operation rights
Under this arrangement PRC offers the collections at a reduced fee and the operation rights would be proportional to the contribution made by each party.

In all cases the exhibition costs could be partly met by sponsors.

2. Technical and management team
PRC can provide interested organisations with specialist teams for running cultural centres, covering managerial, technical and auxiliary aspects. These teams include project managers, museologists, gemmologists and other scientists, as well as teachers, historians and art curators, experts in communication, security, etc.

3. Exhibition availability and running time
Since the exhibitions are tailor made to suit particular needs, PRC does not lay down any minimum or maximum term for them. It is the nature of the project itself that determines how long it will be on for. Our Exhibition Department can give you detailed information on the dates for which each collection is available.

4. Exhibition space
How much room each exhibition needs depends on the amount and type of its contents: from 10 linear metres for a single-theme collection to 100 linear metres for a large-scale gem collection.

5. Surveillance and security
Given the high value of the collections, strict security and surveillance are vital. Within this general picture of strictly observed security, each collection poses its own special requirements; three general security levels have been established:

a)High-security collections: Alarm system made up by motion detectors, shock/vibration sensors and cameras connected up round the clock to an alarm centre or the police; 24-hour security guards and display cases with anti-riot glass.

b)Medium security collections: Alarm system made up by motion detectors, shock/vibration sensors and cameras connected up round the clock to an alarm centre or the police; security guards during visiting hours and display cases with anti-riot glass.

c)Moderate security collections: Alarm system made up by motion sensors, shock/vibration sensors connected up round the clock to an alarm centre or the police and display cases with anti-riot glass.

In any case an individual study will always be made of the security measures for each centre and these may vary to suit the siting or size of the exhibition room, types of display cases, etc.

PRC boasts a long track record in the safekeeping of its holdings and is therefore well qualified for drawing up and managing the security plan for any exhibition centres that may require advice.

6. Transport and insurance
PRC takes on the responsibility for transport and comprehensive insurance of the collections from the departure point to the nearest airport or customs point to the exhibition centre and the return journey from said customs point or airport to the headquarters of PRC or the next exhibition centre. The exhibition centre, for its part, will be responsible for the transport and insurance within the borders of its country during the whole time that the collections remain therein (assembly-, exhibition- and disassembly-periods).

7. Installation, maintenance and disassembly
PRC’s experts will be exclusively responsible for handling, installing, cleaning and caring for the exhibits.

8. Maintenance conditions
All collections call for set conditions of lighting, humidity and temperature to ensure the proper care of the exhibits. Our Exhibition Department can give you detailed information on the conditions required for each particular exhibition.

9. Informative Material
Besides the collections, PRC offers exhibition centres a wealth of textual and graphical information for building up informative resources such as display-case posters, information panels, computerised information points, visit guides, fact files, etc.
This material is sent in English and/or Spanish to the exhibition centres, who then adapt the informative material to suit their own exhibition criteria, defraying the corresponding costs.

10. Catalogue
Some exhibitions, such as Treasures of Gaudí (Tesoros de Gaudí), already have their own catalogue, which only needs updating with the exhibition data before being printed. In other cases PRC offers the texts and pictures for the exhibition centre to publish the catalogue and/ or the other publications considered to be most suitable for the particular exhibition in mind.
